I’ve started my dose and I’m praying it works because this is horrible!! He put me on 1 gram dose of Valtrex daily and I have not had an outbreak since. After 7-8 years of taking the medication I tried to get off of it, but sadly, I suffered chronic outbreaks again. Valtrex came along and I now take it instead of Acyclovir (no noticeable difference other than having to take fewer tablets). I’ve had herpes for 15 years and began taking acyclovir every day for about 7 years. I switched to Valtrex brand after that and would take 1 pill (500mg) about every other day or so up until about 3 years ago. I decided to switch to Acyclovir 2x daily and saw some better. I contracted herpes while on the same pill I’ve taken for years and my OB have been bad. I started taking taking yaz about a year ago and have had an outbreak every month since then.

I have been taking one L-Lysine 1000mg capsule each day for 9 months now. In that 9 months i’ve had only one tiny cold sore that took approx 4 days to heal. I stumbled across Lysine for cold sores a couple of years ago. I started using whey protein shakes that had it in it and I would hardly ever get a cold sore and if it I did, it was def less intense and only would last 2-3 days.
